Here, you will meet Mâalem Abderrahim, a master weaver with more than 55 years of experience. This is a rare opportunity to connect with an authentic Moroccan tradition and learn directly from a true artisan.

Two Ways to Experience the Art of Weaving

We offer two distinct ways to discover this ancestral craft, catering to your curiosity and available time.

1. Visit & Demonstration

Perfect for those with limited time, this 45-minute session is an immersion into the weaver's world. Discover the traditional weaving process as Mâalem Abderrahim demonstrates his craft. Feel the textures, hear the stories behind the patterns, and understand the journey from simple thread to intricate textile. (Children under 5 are welcome to observe for free).

2. Hands-On Workshop: Weave Your Own Masterpiece

For a truly immersive experience, join the Mâalem at his loom. Feel the threads between your fingers as Abderrahim guides you through the traditional weaving process, helping you to create your own unique piece - using dyed cotton or wool from Marrakesh. Together, you will select the colors and design that speak to you, then bring it to life on the loom. This workshop is limited to a maximum of 4 people to ensure personalized attention. (Participants are welcome from 8 years old, children under 8 are welcome to join and observe the process for free.)

Whether you're a beginner or have some weaving experience, Abderrahim will provide personalized instruction to ensure you leave with a beautifully crafted piece.

You can choose to create:

• A Scarf or Bath Mat: A beautiful and functional piece, typically completed in a 4 to 7 hours session (depending on your skill level).
• A Fouta: This traditional Moroccan towel requires more time, usually about 1.5 days (2 sessions of 4 to 6 hours).
• A Cover or Flatweave Rug: A significant and personal creation, this project takes several days (3 to 4 sessions of 5 approximatively 5 hours) to complete.
